Fiorella Valdesolo is a Brooklyn-based freelance writer and editor whose work has appeared in New York, Nylon, The Wall Street Journal, Marie Claire, Flare, Teen Vogue, Elle, Vogue, Redbook, Glamour , Town & Country, Brides, and V among other publications. She is a contributing writer at and is the author of Pretty: The Nylon Book of Beauty. Her essay, Freedom from Choice, about the lack of visibility of abortion on television, was the 2009 recipient of a Maggie award from the Planned Parenthood Federation of America. In the summer of 2012, she co-founded Gather Journal, a bi-annual food magazine. As a writer, she has delved into the science behind green perfumery, penned travelogues about destinations near and far, rhapsodized about everything from freckles to fanny packs to foraging, and profiled subjects as varied as David Hasselhoff and Yoko Ono.
